Amritsar is an important pilgrimage center and is also famous Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine contained in the travel route as a lot of people travel to Amritsar from Mumbai. Tourist circuit Mumbai - Amritsar - Jammu - Katra Vaishnodevi and back is a favorite among both foreign and domestic tourists. Direct flight from Mumbai to Chandigarh to Amritsar to take the other choice. There are three daily flights to Chandigarh. Amritsar from there easily can be covered in five hours by car, which is just 240 kilometers.
